Miocene Shelf Seismic Study, Offshore La.

The GDC Miocene Shelf Seismic Study is comprised of 50 Gulf of Mexico shelf wells located off the coast of Louisiana. For each well, the reservoir study examines three age intervals (Upper Miocene, Middle Miocene, and Lower Miocene) and four depositional styles (submarine fan, progradational, aggradational, and retrogradational). Miocene hydrocarbon reservoirs can not be distinguished from wet sands using conventional seismic data. The study evaluates P and converted seismic attributes diagnostics of hydrocarbons for each age-depositional style class.
